This is your second trimester. Baby is fully formed till this time. As your pregnancy progresses, you are carrying more weight because this is 'Pregnancy weight'. Do not mind and do not get obsessed with your weight. Total allowed weight is 10-14 kg till full term pregnancy. And even if you gain more than the recommended weight, Calm Down there are ways to loose your pregnancy weight.
WHAT TO EXPECT:-
In first pregnancy you may not have feeling of baby’s movement. In second pregnancy at week 21 you can easily feel movement. These first feeling of foetal movement are known as “Quickening”.
PRENATAL TEST & MEDICATION:-
Haemoglobin and urine routine microscopy test every month.
Continue iron, calcium, folic acid, zinc tablets.
HEALTH & NUTRITION:-
300 kcal per day is extra energy required during pregnancy, any consumption above this only add weight to the mother. While the common Indian advice is to eat for 2 people but we must keep in mind that it is not two grownups, it is for a baby that is 3-4 kg in weight. So focus on nutrition of food rather than quantity of food!
Baby has almost reached the one pound mark ( 13 ounce or 369 gms.) and 16 cm. long ( CRL ).
Baby nutrition is coming from placenta.
Skin is maturing and becomes more opaque and beginning to build up fat below the skin.
Hearing get further developed.
Finger nails covers the fingertips.
You will start experiencing breathlessness because your uterus is pressing on lungs. Breathlessness can be worsened by iron deficiency- anaemia .
Most women start to feel movement of baby at this time (around 18-22 weeks). Many describe it as a gas bubble in the abdomen or fluttering sensation.
Weight increases as pregnancy advances.

If your wife has started feeling the baby kick, do share in the excitement. Baby gets active when mother sleeps or lies down.
